Micaela Cerletti

I’m a researcher from the Institute of Biological Research (IIB-UNMDP), from Mar del Plata, Argentina and I’m carrying out a research stay in The Bisson Lab. My research is oriented towards the study of membrane proteolysis in extremophile microorganisms, using as a model system halophilic archaea.

At present, my focus is on uncovering the role of the ATP-dependent LonB protease in the regulation of certain cell processes like cell shape and cell division, identifying specific regulatory substrates and determining the mechanisms of LonB recognition and degradation.
