Theopi is a Staff Scientist in the Bisson Lab. Born in Brazil to a Greek family, she’s lived in Brazil, the UK, and the US. She started her undergraduate research in Brazil studying Parasitology, then moved on to do her graduate studies at the University of Sao Paulo, where she worked with cell division in Bacillus subtilis

In the Bisson lab, her work focuses on how Haloferax responds to confinement. She also enjoys optimizing methods to culture different species of haloarchaea.

Outside of the lab, Theopi has produced a short film called Moments (and received a nomination for Hair and Makeup!) and loves playing D&D.
